We know they're not going to do it right now. I'm not saying they're NEVER going subscription only, but there's no evidence to say that they'll do that without notice. We can guess they're going to be careful about offering something competitive both feature-wise and cost-wise. They've also mentioned it in interviews before: they have their eye on Procreate as their major competitor. Apple absolutely doesn't any need any more of that obscene rent money from honest developers. If the money goes straight to them now rather than Apple getting a 30% percent cut, I'm even more for it. People complained that only the EX version was available on iOS which was priced accordingly but it was more than what most people needed and more than what most people were willing to pay for and right around the time before Apple announced that all their iPads going forward would have Pencil support.
